Wat in 2008 begon als een innovatief anti-kraak project, groeide uit tot een van de meest spraakmakende Nederlandse mode initiatieven ooit. Van Japan, tot Australië en de US; pers en publiek blijven gefascineerd kijken naar deze intrigerende en controversiële mix midden in de rosse buurt van Amsterdam.
Redlight Fashion Amsterdam is een initiatief van HTNK Fashion Recruitment & Consultancy, de gemeente Amsterdam en woningcorporatie NV Stadsgoed. Het project borduurt voort op het Turning Talent Into Business programma; een workshop traject waarin 16 veelbelovende Nederlandse designer labels begeleid worden in het verder professionaliseren van hun ondernemingen. Redlight Fashion Amsterdam biedt deze modeontwerpers betaalbare woon-, werk- en etalageplekken in één van de meest zichtbare gebieden van Amsterdam. Het aanbod varieert van de avantgardistische womenswear van …And Beyond tot de kleurrijke wereld van multi-disciplinair ontwerper Bas Kosters en de moderne ingetogen vrouwelijkheid van Mada van Gaans.

What started in 2008 as an innovative anti-squatter project, developed into one of the most astonishing Dutch fashion initiatives ever. From Japan, to Australia and the US; press and public are fascinated by this intriguing, controversial mix in the heart of Amsterdam’s red light district.
Redlight Fashion Amsterdam was initiated by HTNK Fashion Recruitment & Consultancy, City of Amsterdam and NV Stadsgoed housing corporation. The project grew out of the Turning Talent Into Business programme; a workshop in which 16 promising high potential Dutch designer labels were guided through the further professionalisation of their companies. Redlight Fashion Amsterdam offers these fashion designers affordable housing, work and presentation space in one of Amsterdam’s highest-profile areas.
It ranges from avant-gardist women’s wear by …And Beyond to the colourful world of multi-disciplinary designer Bas Kosters and the modern, subdued femininity of Mada van Gaans Mada van Gaans.
